Simple, Honest, Direct Aid to Make Life Better.
Respect. Integrity. Community. Our mission is, simply put, creating opportunities for the poor and indigenous people of Guatemala to help better their own lives and those of their children.
AMEDICAusa does this in three ways, providing:
- Medical Care and Health Education Programs
- School Supplies and Educational Support
- Disaster Relief and Emergency Services Training and Equipment
All of our services are provided in partnership with the communities we serve and with great respect for their traditions and customs.
One Village at a Time The core concept behind AMEDICAusa‘s work is the “One Village at a Time” model. We select, based primarily on need and in consultation with community leaders and other stakeholders, an area in which we have been invited to work and where we can make a long term commitment.
- Partner with or build a medical clinic that serves as our local home and point of contact.
- Select 3-5 local schools that are in need of aid and fall within the service area of the Clinic
- Work with the local Fire and Emergency Services based on their needs.
This model provides opportunities for community involvement and tailoring of programs to meet the peoples needs in a way not possible with the traditional “shotgun” approach.
